Michael Assey

Title

Head Golf Professional, PGA Class A Certification

Michael was raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He was introduced to golf at the age of 10, learning the game from his Dad, which began a lifelong passion. He attended Erskine College from 2010 to 2014 and graduated with a degree in Political Science. Michael made the Erskine College golf team as a scholarship player and was a 2-time MVP. In 2016, he earned East Chapter player of the year award and won the Chapter Championship. Michael also helped the Georgia PGA defend the Assistants Cup against the Tennessee PGA. In 2019, Michael earned his Class A PGA certification while working as an Assistant Golf Professional at Wilmington Island Club. We are proud to have Michael as our Head Professional here at Savannah Country Club. Michael’s passion for the game, and his dedication to the Club and its members gives him much joy each day.

Cory Dillinger

Cory was born and raised in Bobtown, Pennsylvania. He grew up playing Mountaineer Golf Course in Morgantown, WV where his dad is a lifetime member. He lettered on his high school golf team for four years which opened the door to his college career. Cory played on scholarship at Davis & Elkins College where he won twice and was a 2010 honorable mention in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. After graduating Cory bounced around the Florida mini tours for a year. His ultimate goal is to get his Class A PGA certification while being the Assistant Pro here at Savannah Country Club.

Zach Pretzer

Title

Associate Professional

Zach grew up in Macomb, Michigan. Much of his childhood was consumed by basketball, until his senior year of high school when he began playing competitive golf. This sparked a passion for the golf industry. Zach majored in Sports Management at Northwood University. With his first opportunity in golf he interned with the Callaway/Meijer Junior Golf Tour, where he traveled around Michigan hosting junior events. After graduation he worked with Octagon and the LPGA as the Assistant Volunteer Coordinator at the inaugural Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational. Zach is excited to enter the PGA Associates Program as the next step in his career. Zach was hired here at Savannah Country Club as an Assistant Golf Professional, and his goal is to expand his knowledge and experience in the golf industry, while focusing on operations and tournaments. He is very excited to be in Georgia and is looking forward to building relationships with members as well as growing his passion for golf.
